I bought a fruit bar at Trader Joe's and wondered who actually makes them since they cut a deal with other companies to put their name and packaging.
The item I bought at Trader Joe's was: Trader Joe's Fruit Bar Apple + Strawberry. I went searching online and found a company that makes the same thing.
Here's the item at Trader Joe's.
http://www.traderjoes.com/fearless-flyer/article/1788
Here's the item on That's it website.
http://shop.thatsitfruit.com/fruit-bars/
They do have more flavors, but I think they must have asked which are the most popular flavors and purchased those instead.
So here's one item from Trader Joe's uncovered.
Note: I didn't check the ingredients, but since there's only two in each bar I think this has to be it.
Enjoy!
I like them because they're 90 calories each bar and are quite filling. Reminds me of Fruit Roll-Ups, but without all that sugar.

My first job...
My first job out of college was working at a property management company. I started off as a file clerk. I thought, I could do this job. Not too bad. Then when there was an opening for accounts receivable I took the position. I didn't know accounting, but it was a computer system that you used anyways.
Each month at the beginning all you did was just open envelopes and code rent checks. Then there was the tedious task of stamping or endorsing all of those checks and creating deposit slips for them. Oh how that drove me insane when my adding didn't match the system. I'd sit and figure it out and it took me forever. At that point, I thought, I couldn't do this anymore.
It was a job where I learned about rent, evictions, rent increases, and how a heartless boss didn't care or appreciate what she had. I can still remember it being one of the first five days of the month and it was past 2.00pm. I didn't even eat lunch yet, but I still worked through it since all checks had to be deposited by 2.00pm.
My heartless boss didn't care I didn't eat lunch. At that point, that's when I stopped caring. I left the office and enjoyed my lunch away from the office. I can't be sitting in the same area where she didn't know my name and didn't care I didn't have lunch and was starving.
I worked there for a couple of years. Maybe three. I left when I found another job. I just couldn't stand to be there any more, where a heartless women didn't care I didn't have lunch and was starving.
The funniest part was when after I left she sent me an email saying they were looking for my replacement. I laughed. I couldn't believe she sent me that email. She thought I would refer someone to her? Work under those conditions? I don't think I ever really got a bonus except when I first started and told the owner of the company I was going to go on vacation. I think that was the one and only time I felt wanted.
I only kept in touch with someone from there who also left. The others, I have no idea what happen to them.
I thought this was something I wanted to pursue, but in the end, my supervisor left a bad taste in my mouth and I decided that it was great to have that knowledge, but property management isn't my thing.

Simple Life and Shopping
Today is Sunday. A day of rest. However, when working at job where email is a form of communication and also on your phone, it's hard to get the rest you want. You want to have the one day of the week to relax. You want to do chores you haven't had time for all week long.
I find myself using Sunday as a day to relax and get things done and mentally prepare myself for another week of work. It seems no one tells you that life is like this. You wake up every morning Monday to Friday working for a paycheck. This paycheck allows you to spend it on items that you need. Such as food, water, housing, transportation, and clothing.
However, when you don't have the time to spend it on one of those things such as clothing, you wonder what is something you can splurge on? Online shopping? Buying random items you see when you're in the store because it's an impulse buy, but at the same time it's something you want to treat yourself to.
I have for myself, found that online shopping is my new hobby. I go on a website every day and check to see what can I purchase at a discount (yes because I'm frugal) and then make the choice to keep the item or return an item. The best part is that I have 90 days to figure this out.
I've been purchasing items from Hautelook. Think of this place as a Groupon for clothes, jewelry, shoes, home goods, for men women and children.
The only downsides to this site is that, you must have $100 in order to get free shipping. You are limited to 15 minutes once you place the item in your cart to purchase, otherwise it gets put back into inventory.
Overall, I've found the trick is to be signed in, but not completely signed in. Next you have all the tabs with the items that you want to buy. You have to make sure it's the size that you want. They also work with Nordstrom Rack so if you don't have enough to get $100 on Hautelook feel free to add any item from Nordstrom Rack first then add the items on Hautelook to your card.
Once you have done that click the check out button. You should see all the items that you would like to purchase at once and the clock still counting down from 15 minutes. This should allow you to purchase the items all at once.
If you have a Nordstrom Rack close by, this is the best way to pick up items online for an even greater discount than Nordstrom Rack. I also went looking on the shelves to see if an item I returned was placed on the shelf at the same price as Hautelook. It was. It does take some time for the item to show up on the shelf, but I'm not sure how long. I think the items do go fast off the shelf since it is a lot cheaper than what's usually at the store.
So one person's return is another person's treasure find at the store. For those serial shoppers, this is a store you'll want to visit, because you never know who and when something will be returned form a Hautelook order.
Also, be careful what you purchase. Some items are final sale and cannot be returned. Please check the return policy before purchasing. Make up, make up brushes, hair brushes, skin care products, home goods, and hair products are not returnable.

Where are they now?
I thought I'd go through all the draft picks the Giants have had since 2000 for fun. Also, because it only goes back to 2000. Of course, the ones I will be picking and putting down will be based upon who I know. There might be others that you will know, but I'm pretty much picking those that got a "cup of tea" in the majors.
I started this in 2010 and never finished it. I'm feeling inspired.

Happy 2013!
So my goal for 2013 like every person out there is to lose
weight. To keep me honest I have got a date book that I keep with me to keep
track of how many miles I’ve biked each day.
I’ve been good so far with writing down the details. I hope
that this help me loose the extra weight I’ve had.
I hope that this doesn’t make me eat more junk than the
calories that I lose. It would be very awkward.
I hope to keep a weekly update as best as I can. Look at how
often I blog. I think this is just for me.
This week’s total
Miles: 35.05
Calories: 1086.5
Fat calories: 65.7
I hope I calculated those correctly.

Happy 2012!
Of course, it's once again the year where someone says it's going to be the end of the world. Well, if the world ended today I'd be OK with it. The San Francisco Giants won a World Series and I was there for the games. I am shocked that it still happened, and it does seem like it happened only yesterday. Listening to the audio files of the games just brings me back to that time. I can picture it all happening in my head. That's one thing I won't forget any time soon.
My goal for this year is to walk more to lose some weight. I know that's what I and everyone else say every year. I'm serious since I have a pedometer that tracks how much I walk each day. It’s strange since it logs the previous day’s walking, but I guess that’s normal.
All I want for this year is to have an easy year. What does that mean? For the San Francisco Giants to do well in 2012 and maybe a raise at work? I don’t think I can get a promotion, but who knows what will happen. I’d like to go on a vacation somewhere.
I think those are my resolutions for 2012. If I could lose some weight like 10 to 15 pounds I’d be ecstatic. That means being good about what I eat. Portion control!

My 2011 holiday wish list...
I'm not one of those people that need a lot of things. I actually have more than I can deal with. Of course, most of that is baseball related and I just don't have the time to fix it all up. I left is a mess and I should find the time to organize it. I just think my motivation isn't there.
If I had to make a wish list for 2011 it would be the following:
*a classic Coach purse that's medium size
*a Coach wallet to match the Coach purse
*a Kate Spade wallet that's made of leather or nylon that's black and timeless
*a pedometer that can be attached to my shoe instead of my hip to get a more accurate reading of how many steps I walk each day
*a new dslr camera with the latest features along with a good lens
*a gift card to H&M
*a gym membership with personal trainer time
*a bike that I can have modded to be an electric bike
I think that's my wish list. I don't need all of those things, but it would be nice to have one of them. Heck I could always use a gift cards to stores I shop at. I wanted to have a pea coat and I bought one. I wanted a trench coat and I bought one. Just timeless items that can last a while. I think I've got this classic, but simple look about me.

Life changes...
As I’m nearing the end of my twenties and heading toward my thirties I see a lot of change. So far I’ve noticed that a lot of people either got engaged last year or this year. Then there are the weddings. So a lot are getting married.
My own cousins got engaged I guess earlier this year and one of them is now getting married. My other cousin who’s two days younger than me is engaged and going to be married probably next year or later this year.
It really makes you think about those around you and yourself. Have you or will you meet the person you will spend the rest of your life with? Is time catching up with you? Are you to take the next step if you have found that person? How long does it take for you to know that the person you’re with is the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with?
How do you know? Do you spend time thinking about them? Do you wish you were with them? Do you miss them when they’re not here?
I just hope one day I meet the person I’ll spend the rest of my life with.
Capricorn Horoscope: You may be having a hard time reaching people today -- but it's not your fault! They are just having a hard time picking up on even the most obvious messages, so you need to work around their blocks.

Nine reasons to drink green tea daily
Have you been wondering “what’s all the fuss about green tea?” Now you can stop wondering and start drinking ... green tea, that is. This flavorful beverage offers many health benefits to anyone who drinks it regularly. Green tea contains a potent plant nutrient known as epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG, for short. But don’t fret, you don’t have to keep track of its chemical name to reap the health benefits.
Here are nine reasons to start drinking green tea or continue drinking it if you’re already hooked.
1. Green tea is a superb fat fighter. Its active ingredient, EGCG, increases the rate at which fat is burned in your body.
2. It targets belly fat. Research at Tufts University indicates that EGCG in green tea, like other catechins, activate fat-burning genes in the abdomen to speed weight loss by 77 percent.
3. Green tea keeps energy stable by balancing blood sugar levels. EGCG improves insulin use in the body to prevent blood sugar spikes and crashes that can result in fatigue, irritability, and cravings for unhealthy foods.
4. Research shows it may be helpful against lung cancer. In an April 2010 study published in Cancer Prevention Research, EGCG was found to suppress lung cancer cell growth.
5. Green tea may halt colorectal cancer. In numerous other studies, EGCG appears to inhibit colorectal cancers.
6. In research, it appears to cause prostate cancer cells to commit suicide. A March 2010 study in Cancer Science indicated that EGCG aids the body by causing prostate cancer cells to commit suicide.
7. Green tea may prevent skin damage and wrinkling. EGCG appears to be 200 times more powerful than vitamin E at destroying skin-damaging free radicals. Free radicals react with healthy cells in the body, causing damage, so lessening their numbers may help reduce wrinkling and other signs of aging.
8. It contains a potent antioxidant that kills free radicals. Because it is a potent antioxidant green tea can positively impact a lot more than skin cells. Free radicals are increasingly linked to many serious chronic illnesses like arthritis, diabetes, and cancer.
9. Green tea tastes good. If you’re not wild about the flavor, try a few different kinds. Try it iced or hot. Add some of the natural herb stevia to sweeten it if you want a sweeter drink. I wasn’t crazy about green tea the first few times I tried it, but now I love it with a fresh squeeze of lemon and a few drops of stevia over ice -- et voila! Green tea lemonade. Mmmmm.
Reap the rewards
Add one or two teaspoons of green tea leaves to a cup of boiling water, preferably in a tea strainer. Let steep for five minutes. Pour over ice if you prefer a cold beverage. Most experts recommend three cups daily. And, don’t worry, green tea contains a lot less caffeine than coffee or black tea.

You make me weep and wanna die
Just when you said we'd try
Lovin', touchin', squeezin' each other
When I'm alone, all by myself

You're tearing me apart, every every day
You're tearing me apart
Oh what can I say
You're tearing me apart
It won't be long yes, 'til you're alone
When your lover, Oh he hasn't come home
'Cause he's lovin', ooh he's touchin' her, he's squeezin' another
He's tearin' you apart
Oh every every day
He's tearin' you apart
Oh girl what can you say?
Cus he's lovin', he's touchin' another
Now it's your turn, girl, to cry
Na na na na na na
(Repeats)
Just when you said we'd try
Lovin', touchin', squeezin' each other
When I'm alone, all by myself
You're out with someone else
Lovin', touchin', squeezin' each other
You're tearing me apart, every every day
You're tearing me apart
Oh what can I say
You're tearing me apart
It won't be long yes, 'til you're alone

Break Even - The Script
I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in
'Cause I got time while she got freedom
'Cause when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even
Her best days will be some of my worst
She finally met a man that's gonna put her first
While I'm wide awake, she has no trouble sleeping
'Cause when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even, even, no
What am I suppose to do when the best part of me was always you?
And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're okay?
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces
They say bad things happen for a reason
But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding
'Cause she's moved on while I'm still grieving
And when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even, even, no
What am I suppose to do when the best part of me was always you?
And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're okay?
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces
(One's still in love while the other one's leaving)
I'm falling to pieces
('Cause when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even)
You got his heart and my heart and none of the pain
You took your suitcase, I took the blame
Now I'm tryin' make sense of what little remains, oh
'Cause you left me with no love and no love to my name
I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in
'Cause I got time while she got freedom
'Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't break

B.A.R.T. findings...
B.A.R.T. findings? What does that mean? Since I’ve been riding Bart I’ve found the following items on Bart: a stuffed Stitch with food stains, a cell phone, a telescope, and now a watch. How do I find these things? I don’t know but I just do. My brother asked me why can’t he find cool things like me? I said I don’t know. He said why don’t you find a Nintendo D.S. I’d like to find one, but I’d have to be really lucky.
I wonder what I’m going to find next. When I do I’ll be sure to report it.

The N Judah...
The 7.10am light rail driver. Oh how we have this love hate relationship. I hate you and you don't love me. My beef with you is that you never seem to want to open all the doors except at "major" stops. This would be at 19th Avenue, 9th and Judah, UCSF (which you call UC hospital), Carl and Cole, and Church and Duboce.
First of all is it that hard to just hit the switch that opens all the doors? Second, can you just announce all the stops??? You're so lazy at doing that. It would be easier to just say UCSF instead of UC hospital. Third, why is it that you raise the steps when going into the tunnel while moving?? Why can you put up the steps after you close the doors at Church and Duboce? And my last thing is why are you only announcing stops when the light rail cars aren't packed?
You are getting on my nerves and honestly I could do your job better.

Eggplant...
I left my house in the morning for work. I saw a Japanese eggplant lying in the side walk. I wonder who dropped it. When was it left there? Did it fall off a truck? I wonder if my brother would see it when he left for work. I know he wouldn’t rescue it since he doesn’t like eating them.
After a long day of work I could only wonder what happen to the eggplant I saw in the morning. I came home to find a spot where it was. At first I thought it was a dead animal because it was of the same color, but instead I had to face the fact that it was the eggplant.
I still wonder how that eggplant ended up in the crosswalk near my house.
Capricorn Horoscope: You're totally focused on your work today, but you may be having a hard time connecting with the people you need to reach. Communication may need to wait for a few more days at the least.

The N Judah...
Today's story is that there was no N Judah today. I had to take a shuttle bus to Church and Duboce. I had time so I stopped in at Safeway. I had to find the pastry section and when I did I couldn't decide. I had wanted a cinnamon roll for a while so I bought that. I was in line paying when I heard the lady tell the cashier it's too much. She had grabbed a giant gallon of water (maybe it was a little bigger or smaller I couldn't tell.) He rung her up and told her it was $1.07. She said it was too much. She didn't know there was tax and CRV for the bottle. The cashier then said for you $1.00.
The next person was a guy. I think he worked there because the cashier called him Michael. The total was $1.35. I guess "Michael" thought he could do the same as the lady in front of him. He gave the cashier $1.15. The cashier said you shorted me even more. After that it was my turn. The cinnamon roll was $0.59. I wanted to use my credit card, but thought it would just be faster to give a dollar because there's the change machine right there.
I left Safeway and was on my way. I got out of the parking lot and turned to my left to see if there was a J Church coming. I was too lazy to walk to the underground area to get on a M Oceanview or a L Taraval. There was and I walked toward the island. As the J Church came to a stop for people to get on the doors didn't open up. Of course I was with tow other people who were stupid and didn't know you had to press the button to open the doors.
I pressed the button and then got on. I glared at both of them going, learn to press the button. As I was going through the tunnel I debated getting off at Civic Center or Powell Street to catch BART. I checked the time and decided that maybe Powell would be safer. It takes about two minutes from Civic Center to Powell. I got off the J Church and headed for BART. I got down there and there was two minutes to spare until the train would arrive.
After all this I thought, the commute home should be a piece of cake. I really wanted CAKE!!!
I thought I'm really going to try and get home before 7.00pm because I really wanted this sponge cake they sell down the street from my house. I got out of the Powell Street station and I checked the times and it said in three minutes there would be two N Judahs. I thought ok, I can get home early. Then there was a P.A. announcement. Due to police activity there is an outbound delay at Civic Center. I thought damn it! So then I get out from underground and find something to take me home in a hurry. I let a F line pass by and then I thought OK, I can get one of those and then what? I looked at the bus stop to see what buses stopped there. While standing on the F Market I had to find a 71 bus to get on because this would take me pretty close to the bakery I would pick up my sponge cake. I saw the F Market and got on not knowing where and how I was getting home.
While on the F Market the driver kept telling everyone to move back. He then made an announcement that the reason why it was crowded was because there was a bank robbery at Civic Center and that's why there were police there. Then he reminded everyone to keep an eye on their personal belonging as there are pick pockets on the coach. A this point everyone freaks out and starts checking their bags and wallets. The one guy next to me had his wallet in his back pocket and took it out and moved it into his jacket pocket inside so it would be close to his heart.
This one lady said that the driver is hilarious. I thought some people must be new on public transit if they're worried about it. I bet it does happen, but it hasn't happened to me. Then these two guys that were sitting down that I was standing beside made a comment. One of them said, girl (they're gay) you know what this coach needs to be playing some Alicia Keys. I am not kidding. Then they saw another guy I guess they know. They said, "Hey Girl!" This guy was wearing sunglasses from the 80s and they were blue and matched his shirt. He too was gay. I just thought it was funny.
I got off at Van Ness hoping to get on a 71. While I was on the F Market I kept trying to check out the back window to see if there was a 71. There wasn't, but when I got off I noticed this bus. It had a strange sign. It kept changing and then I saw what it said and went ALRIGHT! I got on and hoped for the best. As I was getting closer to the Sunset, my hopes for sponge cake died. Even when the bus passed by the other place where I would buy some cake, it didn't seem like they had any. My focus then was just to get home. I kept checking the time to see if I could make my connection. I got there about three minutes before the bus took off.
As the 6 Parnassus was turning I had to make sure the 66 was there. It was and it had Giants ads on them. I thought awesome! I was on the light rail car with Timmy yesterday. Today it's a bus with Pablo and Timmy.
Long day and crazy commute, but I got home.
Horoscope: This is not the time for silence -- even if you're uncomfortable, you need to open up and tell people how you feel. It's one of those days when your opinion could tip the balance, and that's a big responsibility.

The N Judah...
Tonight while on the way home taking the N Judah something strange happened. The N had just closed the doors and was ready to leave Van Ness station when it just suddenly stopped. It send some people flying and lucky it was only one car. I don't think anyone was hurt, but this is the second time I've been on a light rail that had this happen. The other time, one guy/girl was sleeping and flew out of the seat. The driver never said what happened, but I'm sure it was computer related.
I wonder if the next time I won't be so lucky. I have to be careful which car I get on or just take surface streets.

Bus surfing...
I thought about this one day while on my commute to work. I thought of how I used to "bus surf". What is "bus surfing"? Here's how I define it and how it happened. When I was younger and was fearless I used to ride the 38 Geary line. This was if I wasn't lucky and if on the way home we found a transfer. While I was on the bus I knew I was suppose to hold on to one of the bars, but I didn't. Instead I would try and balance. Maybe it's more like skate boarding. I don't know, but either way I would try not to fly or fall while on the bus without holding on.
This soon later came in handy when I would ride other buses and the light rail. I still surf on the light rail today. You just stand like you're surfing and light rail surfing goes.
Horoscope: It's never too late (or too soon) to start paying attention to your health.

African American light rail driver...
My complaint today is this African American light rail driver. I had an incident with her last year and I'm still fuming about it. Today's issue was this: the driver had the option of opening all the doors to make it more efficient for people to get on and off.
Well she opened all the doors so people can get on. Of course I was still waiting to get on because people were still exiting from the door I was waiting at. As I'm getting on to the light rail car she hits the button to close the door. Lady! I'm not even on the train and you're closing the doors on me. Is this revenge for when I gave you a coupon for discount that had no date stamp? Or was it from the other time when I did have the correct date and you were too blind to read it?
It must be the second one because at Cole and Carl street you did the same thing. I understand you got to get to where you're going, but you have to let people on. You didn't even see the guy wearing the florescent yellow jacket selling transfers to those that were getting on. You didn't check your mirrors. And of all the days today you remembered to put the steps up while you just enter the tunnel. Bravo to you because most of the time you're putting them up as we're at Van Ness.
You should have common sense lady. I don't know how you got your job, but I think you're doing a crappy job at it. You try to announce the main stops that people get on and off at, but you fail to call it by the correct name. It's not UC Medical Center. It's USCF Medical Center. I don't think you need to announce the mall at 7.30am. No one is going to the mall at 7.30am.
Horoscope: If you aren't ready to end things, don't slam the door. Leave it open just a crack.

Commuting pet peeves...
Every morning it's the same thing, just different stupid people. I've observed that some drivers who drive the light rail cars will either open all the doors or just the one door in which people need to pay. I don't know which way is more efficient, but as someone who has used this form of public transit I get it. I've been riding the light rail system since I started middle school. That has been since 1992 or 1993.
The old street cars or light rail cars you has to enter through the front door and all the side doors were for exiting only. However, they slowly retired the older ones and are now using the current silver French made ones.
Now back to my issue with people and doors. If a door is closing and someone uses a foot or arm or anything to keep the door from closing it will make a high pitch noise. This isn't pleasant and if you're half awake in the morning even more annoying. The next issue I have is that while the people are trying to get off they don't know that they have to press the bar to open. If everyone did that and held the doors open, they wouldn't be out of service nor make that high pitch beep.
My second thing is when the driver chooses not to open all the doors to let everyone on or off at the same time people don't know how to press the button outside of the car to open the door. I've noticed that they all run to the door that's open and hope it stays open. Also when the doors don't open automatically and it's open from the inside no one seems to understand you need to hold the bar to keep the door from closing. I've had the door almost close on me because people don't understand that concept.
Now I'm assuming that everyone that rides the light rail knows how to open the door from the outside and the inside. If you're going to stand by the door at least press the bar and keep the door open so people can get on or off. If you're just going to stand there and do nothing then move away from the door. I can't stand those that just move to be close to the door and don't do anything to let people off.
So the moral of this bitching and moaning is that: use the bar on the inside of the light rail to OPEN the door. Use the button on the outside of the door to OPEN the door. I swear sometimes you wonder if the people getting on in the morning have a brain or if they left it at home. I'm sure it's not their first time riding the light rail so keep the fucking door open!
Horoscope: Take charge and make it happen. You can get more done than you think at the moment.

The Best Thing I Ever Ate...
One night I was bored. I found myself on the Food Network. I saw the strangest yet fascinating show on. The show's name, The Best Thing I Ever Ate. I started to watch and thought, the people on the show are professionals and they should know what's the best thing to eat.
After watching one episode I am now hooked. I might not watch it, but I always check out the website to find out if there are any places in San Francisco worth trying. Much to my surprise there actually are. They're in Bay Area, which would cover more than San Francisco.
I went to Food Network and decided to make a map of my own. And this is what became of it:
View Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate Map in a larger map
I admit it's not pretty, but once I start something I try to maintain it. There's a lot of places and if you get the chance go and try them out.
Horoscope: You have enough good ideas. You don't need to take credit for someone else's
