Macau...

This morning I woke up and headed to the ferry building. The one that takes you from Hong Kong to Macau. Little did I know what was in store for me. It was different. I mean what I remember and what it is now is different. Places been to and things seen.

We first tried out luck at the Sands hotel and casino. This was Las Vegas coming to Macau/Asia. I tried my luck at gambling. OK it was a slot machine that I had no idea how to play. The ones that I did were $50.00 a game. That's an expensive game. There's no way you could play a long time like that. I went for the $0.20 games. I ended up losing it all. Then next we went to the big/small tables. The minimum bet for big or small was $300.00. That's a lot of money. I thought OK I lost a hundred and here's a risk to break even. So I bought $200.00 for big. The next thing I know I'm up $400.00. OK I really broke even because I had to risk the $200. My aunt spotted me the $200 and so I ended up with $200. That was fine with me because I broke even and won $100.

Next we headed off to some hotel where they were super stupid. This one guy kept asking me if I was going to bet. If I wasn't then I had to put down my backpack. What a pain in the rear. Most places ask you to do that right away. The only one we went to with that exception was the Mandarin Oriental. They didn't care, but then again they didn't have a lot of people gambling.

After a little bit of watching we decided it was time to head on over to the Macau Tower. We were on the tallest building I believe and I saw most of Macau. I have pictures, but I won't put them up until I have time to edit them down. I still have other pictures to edit as well. We also went to this one place where we were suppose to be able to see all of Macau as well inside a park, but we arrived too late and decided not to. Instead we went to Macau's Ruins of Saint Paul's Cathedral.

That was different. I remember it when I was young, but to be able to climb up and see it is different. Then we walked down a street where all you saw were almond cookies. The smell was good, but the eating of it is so-so.

Next we went to some other casino. This time I was willing to place my $100 win and make it into more. The saying goes "The greater the risk, the greater the reward." With those words from my brother last time at the race track I had to give it a shot.

I turned $100 into $500 at the end. I had $700 but the last bet that I placed I lost the $200. I know I got greedy, but the risk was worth it. So I left a happy camper. After we went to eat and then caught the ferry back over to Hong Kong. That was some craziness. Winning $500.
