New Year’s Eve…

Today my brother and I went walking around Fa Yuen Gai (Flower Market). I must admit I did get lost at one point but we did find our way back to where we were supposed to go. It was because we went to the Shopping Arcade (a mini mall). We ended up going back to the hotel and then waiting to go to the Festival that they have. I will have to look that up later. We went and tried stuff to eat and just walked around.

Afterwards we found some food and then ate. We then proceed to Kwai Lan Fong street where the bars are. Just to look at the bars. We also went to the wishing tree. So we spent the night just riding the electric cars until the New Year came in. a taxi honked its horn when it was midnight.

12.30.2003

The most boring day ever!

The first day I suppose you can say that I have been here and all we did was eat and then headed back to the hotel. Ever since about 1.15 p.m. when we arrived back at the hotel we just watched TV. Anita Mui who was in the movie Rumble in the Bronx with Jackie Chan passed away. I found out because my mum told me on the phone. Therefore, my brother and I are just in the hotel room watching anime and TV. This was not how we imagined being here. We imagined more spending and less sitting. We want to help the economy here.

We met up with my cousin Alex. We just went around to Fortress (Hong Kong version of Fryz) to check out prices for PDA cases and MP3 players. We did not have much luck. I also got a new pair of glasses and as I had suspected my eyesight has become a little worse.

12.29.2003

HONG KONG!

We arrived at 8.05 p.m. in the evening more or less, because we were running late. I did not want to be on that plane any longer than I wanted to. However, we did finally arrive to the hotel and settled in. I saw a few of my cousins and my grandmother. I gave away some of the stuff so that I would not have a million things to hand out.

12.28.2003

The flight over…

I did not have time for breakfast and boy was that a mistake. The first thing I had on the airplane when they served the snack I asked for a Bailey’s Irish Crème or something like that. I ended up getting sick. Never ever, drink on an empty stomach. That is the lesson and do not fly on United Airlines.

12.27.2003

Packing up is what I have to do...

I woke up and I had no idea what I ate. I know I did some packing or repacking. I am watching Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow. I am also writing down what I may need to purchase. I know I wrote some of the information I was looking through my wallet and I did find my Macy’s card in my wallet. Isn’t that ironic? Well time to pack. I did pack a little before I headed to best last night. However sometimes some things can only be packed the day of and the night of. I know I am packing fleece because it is do cold. There is no heat there. That is not good for me to know. I should have had fleece gloves and also a fleece scarf. I would be nice and warm. Toasty if you must find a better word. Hoodie! That is what I need. I wonder if I should pick up my clothes in the dryer. I am way too lazy to. I will do it later on. I miss my laptop. I wish I could have the laptop however it is a little cold in my room and so turning on the desktop will warm up my room. So there are pluses and minuses.

While I am still watching Emma I can see where Clueless is similar to Emma. I think I will end it here. Tomorrow I will be on the plane to Hong Kong and then hopefully I will be happy and able to shop until I drop.

Boxing day…

What is boxing day? It is the day after Christmas. What did I do today? If you would believe that I woke up at 5.45 a.m. and then left the house around 9.00 a.m. or it might have been 10.00 a.m. We headed off to Stonestown Macy’s first. We rushed over to look at the suitcases and bought the 26 inch one instead of the 30 inch one which was the same price. Had we arrived early when doors opened at 7.00 a.m. (Valley Fair had doors open at about 6.35 a.m.)

Next we go into the car and headed for Macy’s at Serramonte. I jumped out of the car the first chance I got and ran to look at the directory for a few minutes trying to figure of the suitcases were also downstairs as well. I found it and dashed downstairs. I found the 30 inch suitcase and proceeded to the check out line. I had my mum’s credit card because I had taken my out the night before preparing for my trip to Hong Kong. My mum thought there were a few more but there was not. After purchasing it we headed off to J.C. Penny to check out the prices for the suitcases there. There were not any that seemed like a good deal. Then we headed off to Target where we would spend about an hour and a half at least and end up eating lunch there too. We could not find any chocolate that we had bought before so we left and headed back to Serramonte.

We headed to Mervyn’s to check out the jeans there so we could purchase them for my cousin. To me it seems like I am Santa Claus bringing many gifts for them. We also went to Macy’s to see if they had another 30-inch suitcase. No luck even though there was someone who could check in the back because there is not enough room in the display area. It looked so messy at Macy’s. I was going to buy a pair of sweats but then decided against it. It was not on sale and thought why bother. We also went to Target to see if they had any more of those chocolates that we were searching for. We left Serramonte to head to Mervyn’s on Geary Street.

We arrived at the Mervyn’s and my mum was already pretty angered because when we were looking for parking at Serramonte the second time everyone kept on taking the space. The same thing happened at the parking lot so we ended up parking on the street. There were no “perfect sweats” for me at Mervyn’s but I thought I could always buy some in Hong Kong. We did get a pair of jeans for my cousin. After we then proceeded to Albertsons.

By now I know what you are thinking. You spend a whole day shopping for more shopping. Clothes and suitcases then food was to be purchased. We picked up two pizzas. We finally headed home. That was a long day. I had to do a load of laundry before packing. I also was able to use the internet. I was so grateful even though it was dial up.

Merry Christmas!

I had no idea last night was Christmas Eve. Honestly, it slipped my mind until I was watching late night TV and they mentioned the Christmas parade. No presents to open just wondering how much the gift card is worth from Macy’s. it is Christmas day and I am sitting here wondering what is good on TV. I would play Tetris but I have Tetris hand. My left hand is not that functional. =( I cannot think of anything that I would want to do but talk with friends to wish them merry Christmas and have a happy new year.

Unfortunately if there were any e-mails inviting me out down to the south bay for a party I could not attend because I am unable to get the directions. I also did not receive my horoscope for today. Of all the days not to receive it, I did not on Christmas day. I hope that I will receive it later on today.

I leave for Hong Kong in about three days. My flight is schedule for 12.30 p.m. and I arrive in Hong Kong at 7.05 p.m. or at least that is the plan. You know how flights can change. I guess I will just sit and watch figure skating.

12.24.2003

Day nine…

I receive e-mail notification that I can receive free movie tickets and then I receive another one that said if I sign up too then we could get something free. I also received another e-mail from my professor. I wonder what this one says. I never read the first one from my professor. It is no fun getting the e-mails and not being able to read it. I am also watching my soap opera that I taped last year. It is not bad at all because there were some funny moments to it. I do not know what to do for the holidays. I mean I could watch movies that I have on my computer but I just do not feel like it. You know it is one of those times, I just wish there was someone I could hang with. I mean if I had, that someone to talk to that would be different. This is the second Christmas I think that I can remember that I did not have the internet and could not talk with my friends overseas. I miss talking to silly Adam. The one person who would talk to me during the evening hours while others was sleeping. I suppose it is the eight-hour time difference.

Some days I just wish that I could just talk on the internet. I miss it and it is only day nine. At least I can do a countdown to when I can use the internet. E-mail checking will be the first thing that I have to do. So much to check and not enough time to check but hopefully it does not take all day.

A lot of sleep…

I must have made up for the other day. I slept until about 3.00 p.m. in the afternoon. It was nice sleeping. I do have to admit it was hard to sleep that many hours but I managed. I know some of you are jealous and wish that you could do the same. It must be painful reading how someone can sleep that much. I had an ice cream sandwich for lunch or whatever you call it. I had a little bit of dinner because I just was not that hungry. I think it is the odd hours that I keep and because I am going through junk food withdrawal. You know when you cannot have Pringles or Bugles.

I did get a nice facial. I cannot believe my face is that screwed up. I mean my aunt said that it was bad. I know I tried to keep it good but I guess it was not good enough. I suppose I have to keep my face better or just watch what I eat.

Aromatherapy or just missing something…

I have awakened today at a early hour. I cannot believe that I am up after only 6 hours or less of sleep. I think I am ready for Hong Kong. I miss ADSL. it is day eight without ADSL. I am going through withdrawal symptoms. I cannot believe it has been over a week. If I have any more e-mail reminders about a free movie ticket, I will go nuts. I think I did receive the last one something on Sunday. I want to workout but I am just too lazy to do so. What can motivate me to get into shape? A workout friend and or some reward. I think I have been watching too much TV and it is no wonder my brain is not fried. Outside is so depressing. It looks as if it would rain and I am just not in the mood to go out to walk. If I do not walk to the beach then to at least 40th avenue just so I walk at least two mile.

Working on the webpage...

I guess I am trying out new things for my page. I am still deciding. However, I am making changes and not saving the original except the one on the server. Oh well. You win some you lose some. Nothing interesting happened today. No laundry done. I am so bored I am just filling up the lotion bottle the hard way. You know not using the pump but putting it in without a funnel but the bottleneck to bottleneck except one of them is smaller than the other.

Now I am watching a soap opera that I had taped early this year or last year (I am unsure) and watching it now. I am dying to watch some Chinese soap opera. They help me improve my Cantonese. I think I pulled a muscle in my left leg. That is too bad for me.

12.22.2003

After eight hours of actual sleep…

I have woke up and feel somewhat refreshed. I have had lunch. I really needed the sleep until my brother woke me up with him watching anime at a volume that is loud. I am sitting and watching Queer Eye because I missed it last night when he power was out. That was so painful. I also forgot about watching She Spies. I know I live for TV. That statement is wrong. I do not live for TV but it kills time and that is what I like. I did go to sleep at about 10.30 a.m. I woke up at around 3.00 p.m. not too sure, because I was somewhat groggy and then once I was done with lunch I had massive phone calls hit the house phone. I heard the phone ringing while I was still sleeping.

I suppose I should just do some laundry and hope my brother showers because he is truly a “hobo” now. I should get him to change his clothes too.

The longest night of my life…

Only to find that within an hour it would the longest night of my life. While in a blackout, I was just pacing back and forth and I could not use my mobile because the reception was horrible and the batter was on low. It was difficult to kill time. I paces back and forth and was wondering when the electricity would come back on. It finally did. I wonder why my TV and VCR did not turn on. I had thought that the power was half out in my room. Turns out all, I had to was unplug the power and plug it again and it worked. I spent about half an hour outside in the cold watching TV when I could have been in my nice warm bed watching.

I woke up a few times during the night and I finally got the story on what had happened to cause the blackout. It was a power plant, something sparked, and the fire department was called. To be safe they turned off all the power in the city. Then as they were restoring power, the same thing happened and they have to start from scratch again. Power was finally restored at about 5.45 a.m. I also had the scoop on why there was no power from my cousin the firefighter.

I have no idea what I am going to do today. I know I am sleep deprived from listening to the radio last night and then waking up every occasionally hoping that the power would come back on. You wonder what people did without power back in the old days. If my laptop battery was charged I could watch anime, but it was at 40% and that means you could not even watch half an episode.

I will watch the news and hopefully that will put me to sleep like it should and I will wake up later.

12.20.2003

A loud wake up…

I wake up in the afternoon, at around 1.00 p.m. possibly before since the radio or stereo outside was on loud. I was somewhat annoyed because I wanted to sleep later. The weather outside was depressing. I then I had some lunch. Afterwards it was off to Mervyn’s. I was super bored there. It must have seemed like ages that I was there. When we were done, we headed home.

Day three without ADSL…

As I am tying this at 1.32 a.m. while watching The History channel (I know either I am desperate or there is nothing on) about Saddam. I held up pretty well today. I ended up vacuuming and cleaning out the vacuum cleaner because it was full. After that I cleaned the toilet and the sink and wiped the floor the good old fashion way. A bucket with water minus the mop with a rag. That is right, with a rag. Therefore, I guess you can say Cinderella style.

I have since burned CDs to copy the stuff onto my desktop so that I may free up my hard drive on my laptop so I can format it and get rid of this annoying window that pops up. The only problems I ran into were when I zipped up with .rar and I did not have the proper extractor. I could not copy one CD to my hard drive. I also seem to have deleted it from my laptop so I do not know how I will fix it. I am unable to copy it to my laptop either.

I just spend the rest of the deleted or erasing the CDs that I had already used. I also gave my mum the gift that I picked out. After hearing on the phone this afternoon about how we forget her birthday for the second time, I decided to end the night on a good note.

I seem to have caught a cough. That is not good. I also thought I had a cold earlier but it was just my nose reacting to the dust from the vacuum cleaner. I really wanted to e-mail my host parents a card wishing them happy holidays, but I never got around to it. Darn Earthlink and how we have no dial up. Dial up is also such a pain. Once you go fast you cannot go back to slow. It is taking a step backwards if you know what I mean.

I guess I will go to sleep now since nothing interesting is on and I am done blogging for this early morning. Who knows what will wake me up this morning.

Noon wake up...

I have not even been able to get that file on the CD copied to my hard drive. For some reason the computer is going slow and I have not installed a lot of stuff on it. I might as well use my laptop as the main source of my computing needs. I tried to change the flight coming back so I could see this concert I really want to see. I know that sounds crazy but after watching it on a VCD I was thinking I have to go.

Right now, it is pouring outside. I swear it sounds like hail. I wonder if I can convince my brother to go to sleep right now. He loves the sound of the falling rain. It is bad. However, there is no wind but it is coming down. My brother seems to think that it is not a good idea that I have two computers going and that he does not even have that. He has two DVD players, we did have ADSL, and he could do anything or watch and download anything.

Now I am just going over the tapes that I have in my room to see which I can use to tape stuff with for my holiday. Too bad, I cannot see Hacken Lee and Alan Tam. That is the best concert to watch. All I know is that I am going to an awards ceremony and not real concert. Oh well. You win some you lose some.

9.00 a.m. wake up... otherwise known as day two without ADSL…

I woke up this morning more or less around that time. Sleep last night was ok. I heard the VCR go off a few times. I was still trying to sleep I suppose. It was hard sleeping last night. I did like the rest. I know I must have slept about 9.00 p.m. or 10.30 p.m. I actually have no idea what time I went to sleep. I know I went to sleep before the VCR turned off. I deleted something on the record list and I figured it out this morning when I was watching what I taped. I cannot believe I missed Barbara Walter's 10 most interesting people of 2003. At least I saw the Queer Eye guys.

I guess I have nothing to do since I have no ADSL. It is so not funny when someone e-mails you and all you can do is yell at the phone. I cannot answer my e-mail! I have no dial up and no e-mail access! It does not help that I get the e-mail notification and I cannot even check it.

The day at the malls…

After spending time going to return my fleece, I decided to go gift hunting. I never knew what it felt like to do Christmas shopping. You know finding that perfect gift? Well I took a short cut they had at Great Mall and this guy was asking this lady and her daughter I think if she would like a free facial. She said she does not have time. He said but it is free. I thought there is no such thing as a free lunch. When he tried to get my attention, he called me “ma’am”. That is one way to get me to ignore you.

After leaving the mall with water bottles that are suppose to be unbreakable. Therefore, each of us (my brother and myself) each have a water bottle now for when we are in Hong Kong and need water. Afterwards I went to fill up the gas tank at the gas station and headed home on 280 and not 101 because we all know what happens when I am on there.

I head to Serramonte to find a gift for my mother. You know I did forget her birthday. Therefore, I went to Mervyn’s, Macy’s, and Target to find something for her. I thought how about a nice outfit? That did not work out so well. She is anti-rayon and that type so clothes made out of that material was certainly out. I had spent most of the day and hours just wandering the mall. I even thought of Victoria Secret fragrances, but thought she would not wear it.

I ended up picking out a necklace at Target. I was looking and looking to see what I could pick up and that happen to be what I did chose. I finally arrived home at about half past 5. On my drive to Serramonte, I was somewhat spacey. I know that is not a good thing but I was trying to maintain going below 80 and I did succeed. I also saw my second car fire. It was slowing down traffic on my side when the accident was on the opposite side. I thought that the news on the radio would have reported it but it did not.

That was the only thing that was interesting that happened. I came home took a shower and then went to bed. I was tired. If I was falling sleep while driving home, I think I was tired.

Odd thing after blogging?

I was almost done with my blog, of course I couldn't up load it to the blooger.com site because it was down (like my ADSL =( ) and this disabled person came up and asked me if he could use my computer. I was wondering why because there were three others that were free. Unless he wanted to use the time that I had left I wasn?t sure why he wanted it.

I then went to get my free cup of coffee, which I had almost black with a little bit of cream. That kind of kept me up since I had only gotten about three hours of sleep. It is the life of a student that I lead and the fact that I don?t even study and cram most of the time that makes it pretty bad.

No more ADSL…

Yes, I am sad to report that I no longer have ADSL at my house. The cable I have not a clue when it will arrive. That is the least of my worries since my mum was super pissed when we (brother, dad, and myself) forgot her birthday for the second year in a row. She was peeved about the whole thing. Therefore, after school today I am going to buy her a gift. What have no idea right now, but something she will like.

Do not worry to those of you who do not see me online because I can live without it. I can. I do not have an addiction as people think I do. If you e-mail me it will take a while to respond since I do not even have dial-up at home.

My noon wake up…

I should blame it on the computer, but then again I left it on, so it would be my own fault. I make myself some lunch (ramen because we all know I do not have cooking skills.) Then I check to see if there is any mail. Yah! My four-face monkey fleece has arrived! Cheers to the person who sent it before the holiday rush so I would have it for Christmas. That was my Christmas present to myself.

I think I heard my phone wake me up with a little beep but I could have sworn I kept it on silent. Nothing else new. I finally did find out where my professor got the terms from. As I was reading in my textbook (yes I did do a little studying today) I found the term in the book. I am hoping it is only the biographical information that we have to know about each of the modern Buddhist because if we had to know more I'm super dead because I'm too lazy to read the whole bloody (pardon my French) book.

The sheets are still in the dryers. The laundry update for today is this:
I've done the following loads on Monday:
1 - white
1 - sheets
1 - trousers
1 - shirts

I have load left to do:
1 - towels (a couple of sweat shirts and shirts)

That would have been five loads of laundry in one day. Glad I stopped when I did. If you were wondering how I could acquire that much it was become some of the sheets were my brothers. The towels were his, and mine but I never got around to it because I still have one or two left. :o)

Load one drying...load two washing…

Yup one load done and the second one going. So I have about two more. Who did it go up? Well I have a load of sheets to do. Being the nice sister that I am I asked my brother if he had any that he needed to wash. He did. There is enough for a load. The washer and dryer will be busy.

Ok I am still trying to study. Have not found anything yet on the other terms. I have read a little about each of the people that we have to know. All of my trousers were a load. Of course I did add some socks to it. I still have shirts and towels to wash. This laundry thing…if we were genies then we would not have to wash clothes. I guess magical powers are what I mean.

A little revising...with laundry day long over due…

Yes I am washing my loads of laundry. I never thought I had a lot of clothes, but I guess it’s more of the home stuff that I have a lot of. You know lounge wear at home like your favorite pair of sweats? I figure I must have at least two more loads to do. I did a somewhat white load (stuff that needed to be bleach).

I don’t know what else I have to wash. If I wash my monkey hoodie (the one I bought at the store) I would be able to wear it on wed. Yay! Hmm this study thing is not as easy as I thought. I did while talking earlier, but then I ran into a snafu. I cannot find information about two of the terms. I wonder if it is quite wrong to email the professor about it. Then again I should have been paying attention in class and not sleeping or chatting.

The UPS guy stopped by to drop off my pack of cd-rws. I know I was lazy but I figured free shipping and I would be home, plus the stores would not have them anyway. Where can you get 25 cd-rws for under $10.00? I know they had a 10 pack for $9.99 during the summer and then they had the same 10 pack for $7.49 (I was pissed believe me when I saw it listed for that amount.) so now I am able to burn more cds for the car for my enjoyment. It works out pretty well.

Does anyone think that the song “Hey Ya” by Outkast I believe Outkast is catchy? I know it has been a while since I listened to the radio while driving home, but when I heard that song and waiting at the light at Sloat I felt like getting out of the car and dancing. That is all and back to revising.

Midnight snacks?

Why is the topic midnight snacks at 10.45 p.m.? well the only reason why I would bring this up is because last night I had a bowl of Rice Krispies. I know how mature right? It was yummy. But I prefer it with soy milk. Not really, a big fan on milk, but soymilk is good. I am re-watching Meet The Parents. It is still funny.

Well nothing to report except the pile of laundry is multiplying now. I guess I will do it tomorrow. Study day is tomorrow. I better get an early start and not sleep late.

Saddam captured?

Well it is a quarter past three and the only reason why I am up is because the rain plus wind (15 M.P.H. roughly) was loud. It has calmed down and I was finding stuff to watch. Quite difficult mind you at this hour on a Sunday morning. The news said he has been captured. I do not know if this is true, but it would help Bush (boo!) and he might get re-elected. (Knock on wood.) Well I guess I will head off to bed. My computer is acting funny and cannot stand being on anymore. I wonder if it is my new browser. Must check it out and fix the clock in BIOS again. Darn.

12.13.2003

Hmm…

I do not really have anything to blog today. Nothing really interesting happened. I could make an 11.00 p.m. run to Macy’s but I do not feel like it. Just sort of took it easy. Just catching up on TV that I taped during the week. I am Watching Miss Match now.

I suppose laundry is an option. Is that was people do most of the time? Watch TV and do laundry? I should because if I do not then I will end up doing laundry when I come home. Ok that is a little gross or too much information.

Bad news: my ADSL will be canceled (yes you read canceled) this weekend. I will not know how often I can be connected or connecting to the internet. Unless someone has an AOL (if I am super desperate), please allow me to use dial up.

Cheers in advance. I still have one more final on Wednesday I might study and still be on, but reply late. Yes for real. Good luck on the rest of everyone else’s finals!

Hello World - Belle Perez

Hello world, this is me.
Life should be, fun for everyone.

Every now and then I'm insecure,
let me show you life can be so pure
Seize the day, wear a big, happy smile on your face.
On every life a little rain will fall,
that won't change my attitude at all
You are you, I am me, we'll be free.

(chorus)
Hello World, this is me,
Life should be, fun for everyone
Hello World, come and see,
Life should be, fun for everyone

Life is easy if you wear a smile
Just be yourself, don't ever change your style.
I like you, you like me,
Let's have fun, be happy

Look into my eyes and tell me straight
For you, I'll make the whole world wait
Let me know, if it's so, let it show

(chorus)
Hello World, this is me,
Life should be, fun for everyone
Hello World, come and see,
This is me

Come on baby, don't be afraid.
Come on baby, it's not too late.
Say you do, won't you open up the door,
and let me in.

Di da di, yeah.
Di, di.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Open up the door,

Yeah, yeah.
Mmmhh, mmhh, yeah.

Not a fun drive…

So here’s how it went after I went to bitch and moan:
*I got a ride to my car.
*I filled up car with gas.
*I Headed to Great Mall.
*Thought I got lost, but was reassured.
*Found items at Gap and Old Navy.
*Drove home and thought I got lost again heading onto 101.
*I had almost gotten into an accident when getting onto 101.
*101 - I will never ever drive on it again because people go super slow and take advantage that there are no C.H.P. to stop “carpool” cars (meaning only one person in car).
*Came home to sprinkle rain and totally wipe out from lack of sleep.

That was my day in a nutshell.

Bitch and moan…

Things did not go as expected today. Here is why:
*Woke up earlier than I wanted to but I am not complaining.
*I did not leave the house when I wanted to. (I left at 6.40 a.m.)
*I could not find parking on 11th street like I had hoped. (I had to make two circles before I finally parked the car and then thought it was too far away from the curb so I re-parked it.
*I thought that I could study in the Student Union with out noise. (Wrong so wrong.)
*I studied everything that I could and thought I had the stuff down or at least some of it. (True I did but not as much as I had hoped.)
*Turned in my transcripts to the department office, but I have yet to actually turn in the work that is to prove I did some. (Bad. Very bad.)
*I should have talked with the professor about taking an “I” so that I could just make it up. (I might just e-mail her about that.)
*Now I am looking forward to getting all of my aggression out with the help of some friends and food. Not exactly the greatest of combinations, but I will suppose it will have to do.

Plans for today…

Here’s how today is going to be for me:
*Wake up at 5.45 a.m.
*Turn off alarm and turn on TV.
*Brush teeth and wash face.
*Boil hot water for my funky drink.
*Wait for water to boil and watch the news.
*Make a funky mocha/laté and hope it keeps me awake.
*Pack up the rest of the books/notes for studying.
*Change for school and hunt down breakfast. (In that order or the other way around.)
*Leave the house at 6.30 a.m.
*At about 7.10 a.m. I am near or past Palo Alto.
*Arrive and park the car by 7.30 a.m. (the clock in the car is ten minutes fast so I do not really know what time I arrive but I know I leave at about 6.40 a.m. with the 10 minutes fast)
*Study in front of the library before it opens and after it opens at 8.00 a.m. (usually I would blog even without my laptop, but finals are more important.)
*Return the library books when the library opens.
*Go to the second floor to study or the third floor. (I might browse to see if there are any VCDs or DVDs for Old Master Q comic books to check out.)
*Leave the library at about 9.30 a.m. to head over to the art building to take my final that starts at 9.45 a.m.
*Hopefully the final does not take the whole 2 hours and 45 minutes and I proceed to the language lab or business-building lab to print out transcripts.
*Drop off the transcripts and journal that I was suppose to have turned in last month.
*Return the rest of the library books (the art history book/textbook).
*Meet up with Jade and her friend for venting session as well as binging session. (That should be around 12.00 p.m. or 12.30 p.m.
*After meeting and venting I fill up car with gas.
*Drive to Great Mall in Milpitas and not get lost.
*Go to the mall to find the Levi’s store to see if they have jeans for my two uncles.
*I will have to look for some dishes if they are on sale for my uncles and aunts.
*I will also do some shopping and see what there is to buy. (I am looking for those water bottles that are supposed to be unbreakable and the ideal water bottle.)
*Drive back on 101 (because MapQuest said so otherwise I would be on 280) and then go to Irving.
*Pick up package at the post office and buy lotion at Walgreens for Grandmother.
*Stop by supermarket to pick up udon for brother for his lunch for the next couple of weeks.
*Come home to study some more for next week’s final on Buddhism.
*Also do laundry while studying because I know I have not done any in the past week or more. (Checked the date and the last time was on the 25th of November, but I am not sure if it was sheets or actual clothes.)

So that is how my day is going to be for a final, but the wake up part is more or less true for when I have a regular day of school. Now you know how a college student commutes from home to school. Is my day exciting or just typical me? I think it is typical me. If I only had a P.D.A. I think I could be more organize, but I have only a mobile phone and it has a colander so all I can do it just set reminders.

A knock on the door…

I feel like I have a hangover (not that I have had one before but probably similar with the head hurting). I was awaken at I do not know what time, but too early. I was tired last night at about 3.00 a.m. after watching Family Guy. I know what was I doing up so late? I had slept most of it away the day before and I was hoping to do the same for Thursday which means I would be screwed on Friday for my final. Better set the alarm right now for tomorrow. I cannot afford to be late.

I am now making lunch and after lunch I will study. I will study until I go to sleep. Which reminds me to set the VCR to tape the NBC line up. If you see me talking online and do not have an away message about revising tell me off! Even if you are super nice. Ok time to check my lunch and then study.

A whole lotta sleep…

Yes I slept a lot. I went to bed around 12.30 a.m. and woke up at 4.06 p.m. I have not slept like that in weeks. I really needed the sleep although when I woke up I had a little of a headache. So I will be up late tonight studying for my final that is at 9.45 a.m. on Friday.

Dead day and I was dead-ish today. Well it was because I was tired. The past two days I had about 8 hours of sleep. If I had school today that would have been bad. I do not even want to think about what would have happen. There is nothing on TV to temp me to not study. I only have the internet.

I think I better dust off the books and kick butt on Friday’s final.

Being caught in the storm...

I had some day. I learned that when I am really tired and I just finish class I seem to think I forgot to lock the car door. This has happened more than once. I freaked out on Monday and today. I also thought this a few times before.

There were a few drops before I went to fill up gas. I filled up the car with gas. 11 gallons and I could not believe it. That was pretty empty if I had to fill up 11 gallons. Then I started for what would be an interesting drive home.

There was no rain then there was slight rain and then it came down. I have never driven so slow on the freeway for such a long distance. I think at one point I did hit 80 M.P.H. but that was not for long. I drove about 50 or 55 M.P.H. like you are suppose to. No one seem to mind and plus the person following me hardly had to break.

When I passed by 92 there was a car flipped over. I heard on the traffic reports, but I could not see the car. I saw only police cars or C.H.P. and a tow truck of some kind. I also saw a tumbleweed. You know those things you see in westerns that roll around in the desert because it is so dry.

Oh while in class we were watching the video of the day out in Chinatown and I got crap for looking like I was sleeping. I was not sleeping. My eyes were tired from having contacts on and plus I did not get a lot of sleep. I also ran into my friend Allan. It was nice seeing him again. We have not seen each other since I went off to England.

I guess I will head to bed before I look more like a panda.

Leaving late and I can get a few more Zzzzzs...

This morning I woke up like usual. I did not want to get up and I was certainly worn out from last night. I left on my computer and slept with it on. I suppose I could because I was just tired. I fell asleep pretty quickly considering I had only 3.5 hours of sleep. Yes I did look like a panda I think I still do today. It will take a couple days to get rid of them, but I am sure there are others out there just like me.

I left the house at about 7.00 a.m. only because I had to get some breakfast, I watched 15 minutes of TV when I should not have been, looking for an umbrella (had to take decapitated Mickey), and find some clean pants. (I haven?t done laundry in a week or so. I will give you the exact date when I can.)

I am driving and as I am near Cupertino I had to brake. I forgot I put the gear in N and then I hit the gas nothing. I did make it here on the remainder of the gas that was in the tank from yesterday as I thought I would. I found parking and I sat in the car for 15 minutes.

I learned a few things this morning:
1. I cannot drive past what time I usually drive because it is a little stressful.
2. I do not like motorcycles following behind me.
3. I need more sleep and no matter how fun it is to talk to people who are half way around the world, sleep should come first.
4. Friends are first unless I need sleep.

Another random rant: the 3rd floor of the library has cat 5 that are "suppose" to have connections. I guess that floor is down because I only see people on 2nd (me right now) who have access.

Drive home...

After I figured out why my laptop did not connect to the internet (LAN connection thing), I was surfing and looking at E-bay. I then talked over with Herb what I should get for lunch (just did not want to think but thought about a little while what I wanted for lunch). I decided on burritos and it took ages. I decided to hop in the car and drive home to eat. It was so good!

I’m not tired but I should head to bed. I need to rest up. After just about 3 hours of sleep I really do not want to pass out in class. Ok night night.

Cold day...

I can live without the internet. I have proven so this morning. So really what was the point of my bringing my laptop when I have decided I will ditch my Buddhism class? I have not the slightest clue. My excuse for not going to class. I am not feeling well which is a little true. A little white lie never hurt anyone if it means that am able to have more time to work on my 8 page paper. Being in the library with no power I wonder if the rest of the school is the same way. I know I am throwing away my chance at a review session for the final, which is next week.

I still have to wonder if the professor is just a softy or just not understanding that this paper that he wants us to write is quite difficult. It might just be me since I have writer’s block and I only work to my fullest potential or what I have at the very last minute. My brother does the same thing and ends up with “C”s on his papers.

The only thing that I hope to happen is to I run into my fellow classmate and ask them what happened in class and what did I miss. I wonder how the air conditioning can still work even thought the library is on backup.

My day could not have been worse. I thought the network was down when it was my laptop setting for LAN. How stupid am I? At least it kept me from chatting away. I got work down and a game of Spider.

I ended up staying awake in art history which was a shock to me. I also got back my paper which I haven’t looked at the grade for yet. I am running on three hours roughly of sleep and a cup of two scoops of mocha and one scoop of frothé and one package of milk tea. That is a lot of caffeine. Yes there is coffee in the frothé and the mocha. I looked and read the package this morning. The only problem I had was getting out of bed and turning on the TV to give me, the artificial light to simulate the sun was nice.

I left the house at 6.48 a.m. and arrived at school at 7.40 a.m. not bad and I was driving slowly. I saw one scary looking full moon this morning. I also saw two road kill things and I saw three squirrels. I know that sounds a little like the Twelve Days of Christmas, but I could not help it. I spend almost four hours at the library. At around half past nine the power went out and I just typed something which I thought was profound. I lost that because I did not have my battery in and I didn’t save just before the power went out. I already have it set for auto save every minute.

I looked through the books and skimmed them too like a good researcher or someone who is just terribly lazy. I ended up just changing the font for it. I know lazy and bad. I did try to include and do what the professor wanted for my paper. It was quite cold this morning both in San Francisco and in San Jose when I finally got out of the car. I wonder why. Ok besides it almost being winter which is the obvious.

I have a clue to what is going to be on my final this Friday. If I fail this class…I will be crying. I mean you will see waterworks. For someone like me to cry it has to be a very good reason. Ok I guess I will drive home safely. If I do get tired, I will pull over.

Where Are You Now? - Michelle Branch

Maybe I'd do better on my own
No one ever seems to understand me
It's easier for me to be alone
There's still a piece of me that feels so empty

I've been all over the world
I've seen a million different places
Back through the crowds and all the faces
I'm still out there looking for you... ho oh

Where are you now?
I'm trying to get by with never knowing at all
What is the chance of finding you out there?
Do I have to wait forever?

I write about the things I'll never know
I can find a moment just to a slow down
It makes me think I'll never have the chance
To figure out... what it's all about
So tell me... what it's all about... 'cause

Where are you now?
I'm trying to get by with never knowing at all
What is the chance of finding you out there?
Do I have to wait forever?
Yeah, la da da da da n da da da... oo oo oo

Where are you now?
I'm trying to get by with never ever knowing at all
And I still don't know

Where are you now?
I'm trying to get by with never ever knowing at all
What is the chance?
Of finding you out there
Do I have to wait, do I have to wait, do I have to wait forever?

That time of the semester...

I woke up about half past 8 in the morning. I ended up watching TV. I was on the travel channel and saw the top 10 best castles in Britain and it made me home sick. I saw a couple of the ones mentioned. I learned a little something about British history. I went out to pick up Alan and then off to my aunt?s house to drop off shrimp. Then it was off to Cala Foods and Office Max to buy stuff. I got almost everything on my list. I forgot to get the 3M electronic cleaner. Darn. I know they would not have the 4 ? 1 DVD/CD-RW thing. I do not know why they do that. It makes me feel disappointed. Anyone everything I bought was F.A.R. and so tax was about $2.21 for 100 slim cd cases, a mouse pad, twin cans of air (7 oz. total), and 50 pack of CDs. Although I did wake up super early, it was not bad for a Sunday run.

With finals coming up everyone is a little tense and stressed out. Although I have been since mid way during midterms, I am still stressing. Well I have an 8 page paper due on Monday and if I do not get started now I?m afraid it will be a piece of crap come Monday when I work on it then two hours before class starts.

My forgetfulness…

I wake up and think today is nothing special. I read Herb’s blog and then something clicks or a light bulb goes off (you know like in cartoons if I was one). It dawned on me that, it was his birthday. I realized yesterday why he had to go home this weekend. His parents wanted to celebrate his birthday. I totally forgot. I did send him a birthday card. So I did not forget. I really did, but not belated late.

I woke up to find no one at home and decided what to make for breakfast or lunch. I wash up and then decided to make dumplings for lunch. My mum comes home and I think I am saved from cooking. Wrong I am because there is nothing to eat. My mum asks me if I would like to go shopping. I say sure why not. We end up at Serramonte and I see in the window at Hot Topic some Homer slippers. I thought those were super cute!

We ended up at Mervyns and at target to see what we could buy. Only something was bought something at Target. We drive back and it is pouring. We picked up my brother and his friend and then headed to the Mervyn’s where there was no tax. Everyone ended up with something but me. I could not even get a pair of shoes or some sweat pants. A long day for me and I have to work on my paper tomorrow. A trip to Office Max and then I will work on my paper, which means no chatting for me tomorrow.

Nature calls...

I woke up around noon. I was tired and yet I did not sleep as much as I had the day before. I wake up and only to find out that my left hand is swollen. Alternatively, certain fingers are. My arm is also sore. I am getting old and I cannot deny it anymore. I had a somewhat productive day. It took three people to figure out why my computer had no sound. One person to read the manual, one person to find the problem in BIOs and on the motherboard, and me to change the circuit (I think that is what it was),

I finally finish the rebates that I had to do. Glad I have the webpage thing going for me that I was able to type in my information and then all it had to do was be printed and I just had to sign it. Well I guess I will work on my paper tomorrow. I think I am getting a headache.

Ok time to go to bed and then study and then work on my paper that is due on Monday.

12.04.2003

A good night's sleep?

I am well rested today. I was tired and lacking sleep from going to bed late the days I had school. I have started to work on the rebates that I have accumulated over the past couple of weeks from thanksgiving. I think I am getting sick and I am very unhappy about it. I have to get some vitamin C and drink plenty of water. I will work on my paper that?s due on Monday and read the books. Crunch time is here and I have to make the most of it. Even if I end up getting sick, I will still have to do my best. My goal is to pass all of my classes. I also should edit my stuffy guide for art history. This class I have to pass. Next semester will be miserable if I have to take it with the professor who I dislike.

When you don’t look 16 anymore…

After I left my “nap” class, I went to my art history class. I did not nap in nap class, but I did in art history. I do not know why, but I just did. After class, I went to the computer lab to print out my study guide for art history. After I forgot that, I had downloaded the rebates for my hard drive. Therefore, I had forgotten that. At least I got a band-aid for my finger that I cut. I ran into Amelia from my film class. After I walked to the car and thought why not get lunch at Super Taqueria. I had a burrito and it was so good. I was stuffed. The bad part was that I parked the car only a bock away from the restaurant. That was not good. However, I got into the car and then drove to the gas station to fill up. The gallons was pretty much dead on.

I left and went to Target. I found a spot but I had trouble parking. I tried to do my best parking but that did not happen. I went in and bought chocolate. I did not buy enough apparently and so my brother will go tomorrow hopefully. I found a pair of pants! I was so happy. They were the last pair. It would be nice if I had this monkey fleece. Oh well. I thought I had it until I was out bided. I set a limit and I will not go over it. If it means I have to live without it then so be it.

I arrived home and dropped off my stuff to go buy milk. I thought why not redeem my one dollar that I won. I forgot to make a copy but I have my dollar. I should probably label the money on my bulletin board or I will forget. I had to think why there was $15.00 was there and then I thought of Las Vegas. When I went in with my ticket (I had my I.D. just incase) and when they check that means you look at least 18. I look 18! I never thought I would. I guess school has sucked the life out of me making me age.

I walked all the way down to buy milk. I said forget the car. I will walk six blocks for a gallon of milk. I walked down and I walked up. I notice in the store that they had marmalade. I miss that. I loved putting that on my toast. Too bad at my house there is not bread otherwise I would have bought the jar of marmalade. Let us just face it. I am old, I do not have money, and I do not have a boyfriend. (That is a saying in Chinese.) Am I dressing anyone else?

Not having a good day…

I was at the library checking out items and I cut my finger on my DVD. Am I a klutz or not? I would say yes. I would not argue with you if you said yes as well. so besides cutting my finger and making a turn and hitting the curb (first time since I started driving) and __________________________ ? I do not know what is next, but if it rains (knock on wood) I will be angry.

The secret to driving…

There is no secret to driving. You just have to keep on driving and you will improve over time. Some people are naturals and others need the extra training. On another note, you must wonder though why there were or are C.H.P. in the morning. I saw one so the count for this week is one. I was speeding a little. Ok my new limit is 80 M.P.H. anymore than that I should be given a stern lecture on why it is wrong to drive so fast in the fog or in the rain.

While driving in the car I was thinking about the future. What happens if I do not pass my classes? What happens if I have to repeat one class? What happens to me after I come back from Hong Kong? Will I have a job or attending one class twice a week?

These are all questions that I think about all the time. Mostly while I am driving. What happens if I never graduate? What happens if end up at S.J.S.U. forever? I mean I could not handle being here forever. I keep saying I will graduate but as of today, I have not even filed for graduation.

All I can do is ask myself why. Why me and why now? Why is my life such a mess and why I cannot be one of the lucky ones who has their act together and can get out? Why do I not put effort into anything that I do? The questions are endless and all negative. I mean for every bad thing there is a good thing. But right now all I can see is one good thing and all the rest bad. The good thing is hopefully I have friends that I can count on and lean on for sanity because I am losing mine fast.

If I had to ask myself if killing myself was the answer to all my problems it would be no. Watching Primetime Monday and seeing those talk about jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge made me realize that was not the answer although I joke about it every once in a while. They have to live with the choice that they made and one goes back every year to thank God he survived and goes back every year to where he jumped. I do not want to see myself on there doing the exact same thing but what motivation do I have when all I want to do is just get out of school, have a nice easy job with little stress, a boyfriend, and traveling in more or less this order.

This is just rant and raving at almost 9.00 a.m. Just excuse it and if you think you have some suggestions e-mail me at: daria@asia.com subject: suggestions.

Drive home...

I stayed after class for a little while hoping to get out pretty quickly. That did not happen. We ended up speaking on the project that is due next Tuesday. If I have to head down to the South Bay this weekend I will not be happy unless I can go shopping. I do not know why I have the urge to. Well Nothing got done today. I should really work on my paper that's due tomorrow, but I'm lazy. I will work on it tomorrow. For sure. I promise.

I sped home like usual. I tried not to. I was pretty good most of the time. Once it got dark, I slowed down.

Early morning?

I work up early and then watched TV. I think I do that now instead of jumping out of bed. Well I do not really jump out of bed but I mean get out of bed right away. Of course when I watch the news it just hooks me like a fish getting stuck on a hook. Bad analogy I know but that was the only one I could think of. I drove as usual. Nothing to report. A couple of dead something, but as long as I did not roll over them I am fine. I know when I was driving back this car did on a bird or something and that was gross. The guts just flew.

It was raining this morning when I left the house. Not really my favorite weather to drive in either. I know I speed and it just does not seem right when I do and it is raining. I arrived at school at 7.44 a.m. without a parking space for me. I guess since I did not go to school last week something much have happened. Or it was raining last night and no one could be bothered to head out to move the car. I almost parked where I could have received a parking ticket. Lucky I did not. Now I have a little bit further to walk but I will just consider it exercise.

I can?t believe it is December already. I mean just a few days ago it was November. I will be in Hong Kong in about 27 days. I will arrive on the 29th of December at about 8 something in the evening. The countdown had begun. I swear I must have read that exact line somewhere?but where?

What did I do today?

That is the topic of today?s blog. I know I woke up and made hot water for my instant milk tea. I then packed up for school and left for school at 6.51 a.m. I drove in the rain and carefully though I was speeding sometimes. Yes I seem to go at least 80 M.P.H. and cannot help it. I found parking. It was a litter further than I usually park, well not really but at least I found a spot. I think I might have hit the rim, but I am not sure. That was about 7.44 a.m. when I was parked. I might have seen police cars this morning but I am not recalling well.

I then decided maybe I will be at the S.U. (student union) to use my laptop. They added a few more so I could not. And I had no idea you had to sign up or something to use them. What a pain. I trekked all the way to the library. I used my laptop until it was time for class. I left and headed to class to work on my paper.

I sat in class and listened to everyone and had self control over chat. I then went to my next class to find it raining and that was not fun. I had my brolly with me so I was lucky. Then I went to class to type my paper up and listen to a presentation about England, my home.

I find out at the end of class that she will accept it on Wednesday and so I can work out the kinks in it. after class I head over to be a T.A. I had nothing to do and so I left. She said it was ok. Then I went to fill up gas for the car. I could not believe how much I had used.

I drove home a little speedy but after I left the gas station it was SJPD day or something. So many of them were out. I guess looking for the arsonist. I arrived safely at home to spend what had to be half an hour cleaning off the sap on the back window. It is all gone, but it still took time.

Family dinner...

It was interesting. The dinner was at Restaurant Peony. The ones that showed up were the usual. Of course we were the last to show up. it was embarrassing. The food was average. This cousin I guess of ours just kept complaining about how the food kept coming. I found that annoying. He is about 10 or something. I am not too sure.

I gave my aunt the stuff that I had purchased for her. Dinner was fine. Nothing special was made. I ate a little bit of lobster and when it was cold (tastes better hot) and some noodles. I really have not a clue what I ate. I think it was the imitation apple cider that filled me. I had a cup and then a little more. I also drank tea. You know water is good for you. I have learned that. I do try to drink a liter a day. That is a step up from nothing. I had better get to bed. It is almost 1.00 a.m. and I have to be up at 5.45 a.m.

Rainy day depression…

This morning I woke up and thought great a rainy day. I have work to do but the weather is just depressing. I do not think that it will get up anytime soon. I got the brilliant idea of going out in the rain with a toothbrush with dishwashing soap on it to clean off the sap spot on the rear window. There is still a spot but not as big. I stopped after a while because I was getting wet and cold. I hope I can get ride of the rest later on. I suppose it is removable since it has been on for a fortnight now. All it takes is a little water and soap and it will come off.

Well my nice five to six page paper is still at zero. I should really work on it. I spent most of the morning and afternoon procrastinating. My mum is sleeping and she said she would head off to Chinatown, but that did not happen. I tried to talk to my brother, but since his door is closed I have to speak a little louder and my dad just keeps on saying be quiet, but if the door is closed then how will I communicate if he does not open the door? Am I right or wrong?

Well now I am going to try and work or start on my paper. I wonder what grade I will receive. The Lizzie McGuire marathon is not helping either.

I wake up this morning not to any sounds but just because. It started off with a cop near Kezar who cut into traffic. I let them because why speed up and then get a ticket right? (Plus for some reason my brother is a cops magnet.) I drove past it but I was just cruising and not adding gas.

I wake up and I go with my brother to Office Depot, Best Buy, Office Max, and then Office Depot. Well we went to Office Depot to get an ad. Then we head off to Best Buy to get a price match. That did not happen. Then we went over to Office Max to see if they had anymore of those cordless phones, but they were all out. We did pick up some CD cases and I pick up pens because they are F.A.R. (free after rebates). Then we went back to Office Depot to see if we could purchase the PDA and then return it. They ran out.

The first time we were at Office Depot I went to Old Navy to see out the sweats. I tried on pair on, but they didn?t seem right. Then when we went back to Office Depot I went to Jamba Juice to get a Mango-A-Go-Go. It was nice.

Then I am driving back. Nothing can go wrong right? Wrong! I was at Kirkham and 17th and this father and daughter (not sure if they were but whatever) and I was about to go, but they cross. I stop right in front of them. To make things worse I was drinking my Jamba in one hand and then driving with the other. Therefore, I could have gotten a ticket, but I am sure that the officer might have gotten my plate in the time that it took for the people to cross the street.

I get home and my brother goes to pick up the food. I have to hold my Jamba (yes I drink slow even when I shared it) and two hundred CD cases (slim thank god) with one hand. I had to walk across the street and up the stairs without help. Now that is horrible. I then wolf down food after checking the status of my mum?s flight.

I leave at about 12.20 p.m. and I arrive at about 12.50 p.m. I think. I looked and I circled and I circled. I don?t know how many times but more than twenty. I did about 5-20 miles around the international terminal. That is a long time. I do not see my mum until 2.20 p.m. or something. It was ages and let us just leave it at that.

I get home and unpack all of her stuff. Because it someone has to do it and because I wanted to see what sort of goodies I had waiting for me. I got a box of milk tea. I mean a BOX, not the one that holds the little packets, but a whole box! YAY! I can have good milk tea and start up my habit of a cup a day.

I found lots of goodies and sampled everything that was brought back. I even opened the dried squid! Yummerz. Well my mum said that she would never fly Cathay Pacific because there were just too many Indian people. She complained there were children and they were noisy. Well that is the short version. I have to bring back the rest of the milk tea and the rest of the conditioner. Oh well.

That was my day and tomorrow will be more crazy. Family dinner in Oakland and a paper to write.

Did you ever wonder…

Did you ever wonder if there was a box or a pile of stuff to give away that you would find more to give away than keep only because it is unwanted or just hogging up space?

Did you ever wonder if because the cat is away if the mice would come out to play?

Did you ever wonder if because someone was not at home that others would show up?

Did you ever wonder if people who show off the house and what work they did to it are trying to sell it?

Did you ever wonder if those items advertised were actually free after rebates?

Did you ever wonder if Santa knew if you were naughty or nice?

Did you ever wonder if you would find something so perfect that it would never be replaceable?

Did you ever wonder if anyone ever meets his or her soul mate and if there is such a thing?

Did you ever wonder if you find someone who would understand you and can relate to you and even think like you that you thought they were your long lost twin separated at birth?

Did you ever wonder if there was such a thing as bad karma?

Did you ever wonder why children can con you into anything they want and that you could do the same without them knowing?

Did you ever wonder why parents always make you make the phone calls they cannot make because they do now know how to answer or just because?

Did you ever wonder why this was here and not something else?

Did you ever wonder why I am asking these questions?

Did you ever wonder why the sky is blue and why the sea is too?

Did you ever wonder why someone would call all the junk mail you get “spam” and not something else like bologna?

Did you ever wonder why some people can set the VCR clocks while others just have them flash 12:00 12:00 ?

Did you ever wonder why people would get in line at 4.30 a.m. just to get something free after rebates?

Did you ever wonder why everything now has an expiration date?

Did you ever wonder why Santa Claus was a real person but not the tooth fairy or the Easter bunny?

Did you ever wonder why and if are after the word wonder?

The rewards are greater if you try harder…

As I was driving it started to rain. Lucky it was not too heavy or I would have had to slow down. I did try to go slower, but my lead foot kept the car going at around 75-80 M.P.H.. At the freeway entrance for going on 280 around Burlingame a C.H.P. came out of nowhere. That really freaked me out. All the cars just started to go about 70 M.P.H.. I do not know if it was after a car or it just wanted everyone to slow down.

I finally found it…The museum that is. The maps or whatever you wish to call them that are all over Stanford are not that helpful. They do not have you are here because if they did they would be sweet and helpful. I thought this building I was in front of was it. it was not. Turns out it is a hospital. You can imagine my surprise. I was so close to the museum. I circled for what seemed like ages. I finally just parked the car and gave up.

I called for help or someone to keep my sanity. Thanks Herb for reassuring that I was not going mad and that I do know how to read a map and have some sort of sense of direction. (In a way I am like a guy. I refused to ask for directions because I had a map and everything else that I needed for this trip.) Well it turns out that the bloody museum was like behind the parking structure. They need better signs at Stanford. Who wants to get lost there? On the other hand, who wants to be on a minibus for a guide of the campus?

Where I had parked had meters, but I wonder if they would even check them considering it is a day after a major holiday. I did not want to risk it and luckily a car left and his meter had like an hour 10 on it. So I moved my car into that spot. Luckily, I got no ticket. The meters do not have to be fed after 4.00 p.m. so when I left I was not ok.

I spent at least an hour because I finally figured out on the map where the museum was. I was already to go in and work when I get stopped by security saying I cannot take my backpack there. She said put it into a locker. I was not going to leave my laptop there so I took it with me. I did not use it but just knowing I had it was good.

When I was inside working security comes in and asks me if I am using a pen or a pencil. Unless he was colorblind (which I am not sure of) I was using a pen. He said that pens were not allowed so I had to use one of those silly looking golf pencils. They were so annoying because I could not draw the way I wanted with them. I never thought that pens were not allowed in museums. Maybe because it is Stanford. If it were some other place, they would not care.

I went back to the car and left the campus. I left in one peace and never will I go there again. I drove home so fast out of Stanford you would think I was running away from some monster I had seen. As god as my witness unless I do not have to drive then I will go. I made it home in one piece going way too fast, but that’s how I’m driving now. Way too fast. I went from doing around 70 MPH to 80+ M.P.H.. oh there was a raccoon dead before the Burlingame exit. Something else was dead along the road and I swerved to avoid it.

"Go for the best deal. You see what you shouldn't see. Tell those who should know." - Horoscope

My horoscope was dead on today! I mean really! My brother bought a PDA (Sony) and I surfed onto a site that has somewhat good deals on it (not as great as another, but ok) and I saw that it was cheaper at Office Depot. How 12 pairs of eyes (we all wore glasses and you know the expression four eyes) could not see that price listed in the paper was beyond me. I mean I only see it when I get home. How crazy is that? Well I told him so he could get some money back. My brother says that he is finally organized, well I told him about Sunday (we have a family dinner) and he said he would put it under advisement. I do not think that is being organized.

BF or DAT...

I awoke this morning at about 1.05 a.m. when my vcr was recording the Oprah show. For what reason it escapes me now. Then I woke up at about 3.10 a.m. and said forget trying to sleep, but rest my eyes is good. I was awake and nothing really happened while I was driving.

I did not drive like a crazy though I wanted to and there were more cars out than I had anticipated. The line for Best Buy was crazy. I mean there were people there at 4.00 a.m. I am sure. As I was about to enter the door this lady pushed me. It was not my fault and it was not my idea she be near the shopping carts. I mean I was just going with the flow. It is not my fault that she got shoved. And I told her off too. Who am I to care if I get arrested because I know people and that would they believe me (really innocent looking student) would push a lady who actually pushed me? Whom are they going to believe her or me?

Afterwards not successful in what I wanted to get I headed over to Office Max for a killing on stuff. Got one of the phones, cds, the flash drive, and cd cases. I think we got the pens too, but I do not know what else. It was insane because they did not have enough checkers and they limited the amount of people going in the store.

My brother was driving when we left Mervyn’s (yes I was too late and could not get the $5.00 shopping card. Oh well. I bought a couple pairs of shoes. Not bad. Nothing really special, and I wonder why they were taking down the signs that said extra 25% off the clearance price. How rude!

We decided to head to Clement street for food. Well more like take out and well something happen. My brother was parking and hit the car behind him. To make matters worse the owner yelled at him kind of. After that I drove. We also went to pick up some food and then dropped off his friend.

Well that is something is it not it? All that done in one day and all in about 5 and a half hours? Next year will be different.

Turkey day 2003...

Needless to day I can rushing with adrenaline for tomorrow. There is the free stuff and good deals out there. My shopping list so far: 400 black cds, two 2.4 GHz cordless phones, Altoid strips, cd visor holder, some RAM for my computer, slim cd cases, a microphone (can’t find the one I have and paid $3.00 for), a power strip with surge protection, pens, and another mini portable hard drive. Most of the stuff will be F.A.R. (Free After Rebates) or cost a little after rebates. Under $10.00 is a good guess unless the item is expensive. Mind you, I have not calculated the amount for the postage and also the tax, but still very good deals.

I actually programmed the universal remotes. It is just much faster to use the codes they provide instead of doing a code search. Whoever thought about just pressing one button forever is stupid. I now have a universal remote to control my TV, VCR, and even my stereo. Now I have sleep for my TV! I am so happy. Now I can watch TV and have it go off! Yay! So excited! I love the new remote!

Well I better shower and then get to bed because I have an early wake up.

My horrible day…

Ok it was not that horrible. I was able to access the internet while in “nap class” (that is Buddhism for those of you that do not know. While typing the notes my wrist started to hurt. So that is not good or ever a good sign. While in my other nap class I guess I was just stir crazy or something because I was awake but space. I continued this way when I was in the car.

I was going to buy a milk tea at this place called Hydration Co. on third street but I thought I’ll just swing by Cupertino to see if it makes a difference out of my drive. I start the car and I drive forgetting to put down the parking break. Yes I forgot. You would think I would not having driven for so long now. I forgot. I only noticed it when I saw the red light that said brake. So my bad on that one on forgetting the brake it happens so get over it!

I head to the gas station and fill up. I thought why not leave the way I usually do. But then this guy in a green Acura goes back on 11th to go on Santa Clara to turn left on 10th street. He was a genius at that point in my eyes. I thought I guess I will do the same thing. I exit on Santa Clara leaving from the gas station and scrapped the car (already suffered a little damage while I was getting the air gage thingy). I went to Albertsons to pick up more broth. Yes, I know we must have eaten a can or 10 by now. I leave and then head off to Cupertino for the milk tea.

It is not really out of the way. I just cannot stand speed bumps. I turn off the engine to find myself staring at the sky (I had open the sunroof while leaving from Albertsons and I forgot to close it) and I just said I’ll turn on the alarm and if someone steals the car oh well. I got back and the car was still there so nothing happened. The worse that could have happened was a bird flying by and going you know in it.

I arrive home to mail the letter (absentee ballot) and if I mailed it from San Jose I wonder what those people would think. Then I head off to the gas station to fill the tires with air. They were not even and so I made them even. The only bad part is I forgot which one needed air. I ended up filling them both up and so they should be even now. the only problem was when I was trying to back out and get out of the station this stupid little red Mercedes pulled up next to me making it hard for me to get out. It was embarrassing have the mechanic direct me out. It took me a couple of tries too to get out.

I parked the car and then I looked and I was too far away from the sidewalk so I had to re-park it. Now it is all perfect. Now I am just killing time until I head to CompUSA for their 6-hour madness.

I woke up to strange sounds?

I thought I was dreaming, but I was not. I heard water noises. I did not. What did I hear? I heard the noise of the heater going. It is quite amazing when you think about it how the heater and water can sound similar. I thought it was the tenant downstairs taking a shower (because I can hear the water being used). I was dead wrong. Then while boiling hot water (as I do everyday that I wake up early) I heard what I thought were water noises. Was I wrong again? Yes I was. This was at 5.30 a.m. only 15 minutes before I was suppose to get up.

The drive to school was odd. Yes odd is the perfect word. I had no idea why it was going so slow on 19th Avenue. I found out the reason was there had been an accident near Taraval. I was in the far left lane and was super happy when I did not have to change lanes. Everyone else thought that moving right would be better, but they were sadly mistaken. One charter bus thought that turning and then going on 20th or something would make it a little better, not so because I caught up with it in the end.

Driving on the freeway was not as painful as I thought. Back was fine but doing other things is another story. I was driving like a crazy person. I left the house at about 6.53 a.m. and arrived at 7.45 a.m. I know that does not seem like a long drive but for me it was. I was speeding (I know terrible since I vowed earlier in October or September to stop speeding) at up to 90 M.P.H.. I know that I run the risk of being caught by the C.H.P. and a fine of at least $300.00. I could not help it. Something drove me or inside of me said why not drive fast. Maybe it was those cars that felt the need to pass me as I was about to head on to 280 (around Alemany and Brotherhood) and I just wanted to prove that girls can drive fast too.

I was passing this Toyota at times and sometimes I was behind it. I guess you could say I was tailgating it. I passed it and I guess that sometimes it could not handle me tailgating it so much. I stopped and switched in front of it. I know badly me to rather make fun of the guy for driving slow.

I found parking and I am thinking about not filling up the gas tank. Maybe I will with a couple of gallons but nothing more. I am not doing a lot of driving this week and thought maybe it could survive without its weekly double fill up. It might need it since I have to go to the airport on Saturday. Oh what fun that will be.

I do not think I have many plans for today except go to Albertsons for more broth. I know I am stocking up on it as if it was a can food that you can eat when there is an emergency. My brother?s friend seems to think we drink that and or we fill up the car with it. So we buy a lot or I do or get others to buy it. the look of shock that will be on my mum?s face will be priceless. Although my dad has put some away in a box, somewhere the look on her face there will priceless as well.

Oh here is another odd story. I leave the house to find the front door key in the keyhole. That was a surprise for me. Yeah I do not think I will be feeling safe anytime soon. What if someone broke into the house while I was sleeping? I mean I do that too but it is in the daytime.

Still in pain =(

Well I do not know where my day went. I went and took a nap because I was tired and in pain. Hopefully tomorrow it will be better. I did change my sheets last night, but I doubt that was the reason. I find myself with another load of laundry to do. That is just horrible. I am done with my clothes that have been there for ages (you do not know want to know exactly how long) in the basket. Well I have school tomorrow and stuff I have to return. I will take it easy and head to bed now. Night.

An achy back…

I woke up with one and it is odd because I did not do any heavy lifting or anything of the like. I wonder if it was because I was doing some stretches yesterday and one of them was to help the lower back while I screwed mine up. Oh well. At least I am not driving today. I do not know what I would do if I had to drive and sit in the car. I know I did not sit funny driving last night. It might have been the way I slept? I do not know. I hope I get better before tomorrow.

I am having a bad day…

I just thought to myself I left the floppy with my paper that I am suppose to e-mail to everyone in the floppy drive in the language lab. I am so screwed. I am so pissed now. I do not even have an extra copy. This is definitely a bad day. I hope it is still there on Wednesday.

Then when I was walking back to the car this afternoon I thought I forgot to lock the doors. I am stressed. To top it off I come home to see the microwave with the pile of “donations”.

“Donations” are stuff that we do not want but will donate to a charity.

The cows are out…

Ok I forgot to put into my blog this morning that there were cows all around. I just did not hit one of them or tip one over (that’s against the law in CA). I was super stressed and I still am. I had a short temper/fuse today and it only got worse. I am sorry to those whose head I ripped off today.

I was up at about two something in the morning nearly three I believe. That might be a reason why I am so grouchy. And plus the fact I was sleeping in my class. Anyway after a good night’s sleep I should be fine. Or maybe because I had not eaten and it was three something when I finally went to turn in my paper.

Then I went to McDonalds for a little treat and because I was hungry. As I left this guy asks “ma’am (that is like one strike already) could you spare some change (that is two because I was hungry and tired and I did not need to hear me get called ma’am)”.

I fill up gas and then leave. I heard on the traffic report there was a car fire. I could see the smoke, but I thought that the car was not on 280. wrong I was so wrong. Yes I am not dealing well with road rage. Everyone stopped to check out the car fire! So annoying and I was just not happy with that little stop and go there. I am driving home and this car is going slow. I switch to the next lane to find him holding the phone and it is obvious he is on the phone.

Then I had to deal with this car that would not go and tailgaters are so annoying. I am almost home and the light is green but the traffic was not moving. So I honked. I was getting impatient. Then the car turns without signaling…and I thought good that I honked at it at first.

A rough day over all at least I hope I have the day off tomorrow.

Speedy Gonzales?

That is in reference to someone who thinks I walk to fast. You know who you are. I am sorry that I speed. Not only by foot but by car as well. at one point I found myself doing at least 90 m.p.h. on the freeway. So much for looking out for C.H.P. Total so far this week one. I will keep count of how many I see on a three-day week.

I left this morning at 6.51 a.m. from the house. I did not have to squeegee the windows because there was nothing to squeegee which is a blessing because it was darn near nippy out there. I arrived to find the perfect parking spot (no cars front or back just enough space for one car) and I did not think I would find such a spot on a Monday. I was just pure lucky. I arrived at roughly 7.40 a.m. even with the occasional burst of road rage in the beginning heading on to 280 and then the almost accidents because trucks think that they own the road and do not feel like they have to signal or speed up to cut out of the lane. Two accidents I had to avoid before heading off the freeway.

I am a klutz for those of you that do not know me by now from reading the many toes accidents I have had and also the coffee spills in the car. You can now add milk tea to that growing list. I was drinking thinking there was not that much left only to have it overflow in my mouth (you would think I had a big mouth since I talk a lot for those of you know I can keep my mouth shut sometimes) and it spilled on my jacket and on my steering wheel. I will defiantly have to remember to clean it up at the gas station. When I got out of the car it was freezing! I mean colder or as cold as San Francisco. The news reporter said it was 40 in San Jose and 42 in Cupertino. How is that possible? And my phone message alert said that it was 41 at about half past six in the morning. Who is right and who is wrong? One of life’s mysteries that will forever remain unsolved, unless you are a meteorologist and have the answer because you study the weather.

Good hair...

This is so off topic, but I am having a dam good hair day. It is even better than the day I went to the salon to get it blown straight. The guy did not how to do it. I have perfect hair. Or nearly.

Bored…

Yes am bored. I can think of one thing I should be working on but my wrist seems to disagree with me. I just set the chair a lot higher than it has been. I hope that this will help with my typing. So now I plan on working on my paper. I swear I turned off the heat like 3 hours ago. I mean the tenant downstairs is not even there so what is the point. It is not like I’m freezing. I mean if I was I’d turn it on, but it’s not so why is it on? I swear people think that gas is unlimited. He is a guy and guys can deal with the cold except when it happens then they are wusses. I guess could say that I could probably bake in my own room with the way it is set up. My desk is right under or in front of the heater. So if my feet are cold I can place it right under the heater to warm them up. If I am colder than that, I put on a pair of socks. I have already had breakfast/lunch and even my milk tea with a regular cup of hot tea. All this is not good for me, but I have drank water too. Just wanted a little change with tea is that a crime? Before I know, it will be 5.00 p.m. and my day will have been wasted.

Maybe a productive Saturday...

I woke up this morning and thought why am I up this early. Early was about 11 something in the morning. some people have been up and already had a productive day. I know what a lazy person I am. I was tired from staying up somewhat late. Nothing like hot tea and milk tea to warm you up when it is cold. I am so lucky not to get sick. *knock on wood* because if I was to get sick I would be miserable. In addition, I would be even more unproductive. However, sometimes I do get the crazy idea of doing work when I should. It is about quarter past five and I have nothing done. I showered and has me a cup of tea. Ok time to get to work on my paper.

Michelle Branch...

It was awesome! I enjoyed it. the high light might have been when I was moved from the seats that the usher told us to sit and then the actual seats we were suppose to sit at. So musical chairs was fun. Then this guy and his girlfriend were like nuts during the concert. He actually had a lighter and had it lit. that was crazy. He was like a fan I guess.

She sang her songs and even The Game of Love. I now want to get her cds. She got two caps and a Pooh bear. She said she was a San Francisco Giants fan and she loved gifts. It was really good. So the secret with encores is that after they finish they do a bathroom break and come back to sing a couple more songs. Some left before she came back thinking there would not be an encore.

The one guy with his girlfriend had to be the high light. He would stand up from time to time with the lighter. Like she could see him all the way up there with the bright lights on and this other guy stood up with him. These two girls stood up when she sang this one song for the whole time that she sang that one song.

Overall I had a great night. Had great company and great music. My voice did not go horse like when I went to see Westlife, but my ears were dealfish. I would go again and see her. When I head to Hong Kong, it will be time to go and purchase her cds.

What I've done today...

I have awaken toe the sun shining through the cracks of my blinds. I then proceeded to make a horrible lunch, as my brother would call it. He said I should know how to cook because of the stereotypes about women being good cooks, but most chiefs are male so?I don?t know. After eating lunch I decided to blog. So here I am. Nothing really interesting to report. My toe still hurts and I don?t know what else to report. It has been somewhat chilly here, but I wonder if I need to break out the sweaters, I wore when I was in England.

Not a good day...

I woke up at around 8 something in the morning. Reason: unmentionable, ok it was to use the bathroom. That is all I am saying. I went back to sleep and woke up at 12.19 p.m. I made food and ate Pringle and something else. I figured out how I got the canker sore. The Pringles from last night. Then I figure out I had a canker sore. I was making lunch and I get a phone call. I answer my phone, I am in the dining room, I was getting out of the chair, and I do now know how I manage to hit my toes (middle and ring). They swelled a little. I put ice on it. I do not know if it did any good, but hopefully.

Even though I had a canker sore I still ate fried foods. Not so wise. I just wanted Pringles. So I had the greatest pleasure of hurt toes and a canker sore. Not the greatest day in the world, but you know everyone has one of them. tomorrow should be better. I get to see Michelle Branch in concert! I can't wait! "I'm so excited, And I just can't hide it,"

I spend the evening or "primetime" cleaning my room. It was dirty and gross. I had to vacuum. Friends was good and I read what Family Guy might come back on TV. So those of you that are fans watch out for its return.

An easy drive home…

I ran into my friend Jon, who helped me through a difficult time. We talked about almost graduating and about Allan our other friend. He is almost out and I have no idea if I can or not. Then I proceeded to e-mail everyone that my phone had died. Then I jetted back to art class to learn more stuff. I had a hard problem staying awake. I think because I was awake for the Buddhism class and this subject was just not interesting. After class I headed off to Super Taqueria for a burrito. I think I ate that burrito in about 15 minutes or something because I was hungry. I then went to fill up gas. The card worked! I swear I think it was the system. Then I left and headed home.

I figured out how to use the cruise control. I used it today on the drive home. I think I used it to go to school too, but it just freaked me out so I stopped using it. it was fine going home because there were not a lot of cars, but cars kept passing me and this one BMW was tailgating me. I had to go up to about 90 M.P.H.. I slowed down once the BMW passed me by. I kept on for a long time on cruise control. I went to the mall to get a price adjustment. I was so happy! I then drove home to find out I had a headache. Well I think it is from lack of sleep and all the stress that I have with school.

I went to the post office to mail the package and picked up a package. I had no idea that I would get the space right in front of the post office. That was ironic. So all in all I got everything done except buy broth. Oh well. Time to head to bed. Night!

Nothing interesting to report...

The only thing that was interesting was the fog around San Mateo. I was driving about 85 m.p.h. at one point. I do not think that was wise, but if you knew me then that is how I drive sometimes. I did drive a little reckless this morning or yesterday while was drinking water. Actually, I think I was recapping the water bottle. I swerved into the lane next to me. I did not hurt anyone, but still reckless.

I left the house at 6.53 a.m. or started to drive at that time. I missed the light and so I had to wait. I was somewhat furious. However I did arrive at school at 7.43 a.m. and I did use cruise control a couple of times this morning, but it is rather scary when you think you might hit the car in front of you.

I have a ton of errands to run and I am still debating whether I should go ahead and mail the package today or wait until tomorrow. I would have to find parking and I would like to have some Taco Bell if I could. I have been craving Mexican or imitation Mexican food. I still have to head to the mall to get a price adjustment. You could imagine how I felt after I found out that the sweatshirt I bought was cheaper a week later.

My miserable grade…

Ok so the easy class I was getting at least a ‘B’ in is now a ‘C’. Why may you ask? Because I failed, a quiz last week and I know I did but not that badly. I am so now in danger of repeating this semester again.

I watch a couple of episodes of Naruto. I just did not feel like watching “O”. I want to sleep. I should prepare for bed then go to sleep when Queer Eye is over. Better, go and get ready for bed.

I also have a load of laundry going. There is sill one more if you believe it.

Laundry update and morning drive…

The laundry update is that I did fold some of it. the rest was just tossed back into the laundry thing. The morning commute was odd. I left the house at 6.53 a.m. and arrived at 7.43 a.m. That is a four-minute difference from yesterday. I found parking which is always good. I can’t believe that mornings are so difficult. I had a hard time getting out of bed because I did not want to believe that it was 5.45 a.m. already. The toughest part about school I guess is the commute. Ok that is a total lie, but the papers that I have to write and the exams I have to take. The best part about school is leeching off the T1 connection.

I do not know if I should make anymore Albertsons runs to buy chicken broth. I mean do I really need more than the seven dozen cans that I have bought already? Maybe will ask my aunt if she needs any, however I do not have a lot of beef cans. It does not matter anyway since it goes down the same way right. I do not know if I can watch “O” on my laptop since the DVD drive is really loud. I should at least try or get the video! Aww but I hate rewinding. Oh well.

Ok not Herb's fault...

Just want to retract what was said earlier because I am too lazy to edit it. Not Herb's fault, but somewhat his fault. So I am sorry.

The highlights from lack of sleep…

I was going on lack of sleep today. I B.S. my presentation and I never did make the eight pages for the rough draft. I thought I did a bad job but to my surprise I did not have any questions only because class was about to end. Did I mention I ditched my T.A.ing for the day? I was in my art history class and I wanted to sleep. I was just wiped out. I was also hungry. I figured I had to go and print out the rough draft and then turn that in then head on over to the library to pickup a few items.

I then walk back to the car thinking I can just go to Super Taqueria to get some food and then go home. I walk to the car, head to the gas station and fill up to find out they don’t take Discover anymore. Arrg. Then I had to pay with cash and if I have to pay with cash I will be poor faster. Then I head to Albertsons to make a dash for more chicken broth. I only bought a dozen because my feet hurt.

I left and then went to pick up food. Oh glorious food! Not to eat it right away but when I get home. I drive home and I head to the mall. I exchange my favorite shirt (they’re all out because HERB DID NOT TELL ME IT WAS 60% OFF) and so I was left coming out empty handed. I decided to ask the AT&T dealer what I can do about my phone. The guy said you can get a new phone. I said I don’t know who’s the phone under. He just kept on asking me if I knew the last four digits of the person who was the owner of the phone’s social security number. I said no.

Then he asked if I was 18 and I said yes. He said ma’am (he called me ma’am and not miss what a way to not make a sale) and said that the Panasonic phone was like a Toyota and the Samsung was like a Honda. You have one phone that is not top of the line and one phone that is top of the line. Bad car analogy and if I did not know anything about cars I would be lost.

Then goes to tell me that my phone will not work or will be old (it is already three years old and so I know it is old that is why I am looking for a new phone duh!) and no longer in use. He said that GSM would take over. He also said that GSM was based with a satellite. He said that if I was to drive using my phone down Highway 5 I would get no signal sometimes but with the GSM I would because it was “satellite”. That is a total lie and I do not know where he got his training. He said so much stuff that he was B.S.ing about and though I did not know any better on what I wanted and trying to sell me the high price phone. Why bother with a con artist when I can order online without the con artist? I left and said thanks.

I go home and wolf down food. Yummy! I loved the salsa. So fresh and not spicy. Good carne asada. After eating I felt like a beer so I took out a Stella. Man I was buzzed for a while and I was cursing. Bad aren’t I?

I finally picked up the load of laundry I had washed and dried yesterday. I have not folded it yet, but I plan to.
